Socail Marketing needs PR ?

Today, when i took my train back to York, i have some thinking in PR using area, at the same time, there are many students got into train, and they was looking like a drama player and just finishing drama perfomance on the street or in the theater. I got one strange idea about the possibility to put PR in social marekting.

As a new marketing area, social marketing is a no-profit marketing area, meanwhile, the benefit for this marketing is not for the money. Consider the function of social marketing, the aim is to bring good behaviour and hobby for the social life. Using PR may be a good way to do promotion in this marketing. PR is about how to work with people, how to make the relationship between different cultuer or people. For the human aspect, one person is easy to influence other person, the communication between people and people is the most strong power to change the people. As the aims of social marketing, the gevornment want to use the marketing technique to change people behaviour. At this point, I think PR can promote the aims  of social marketing, make people pay attention to this areas, and government will get benefit for it.

Meanwhile, consider the money, PR is a good way to save money for gevornment. As this point, marketer or gevornment officer can promote on street, and do some free class to the customer in the  city Hall. purpose for this promotion is  to make people trust and understand the social marketing. therefore, people can promote by the daily talk with friends and family members.

Those are person point view in socail marketing and PR. I have strong feeling this can work effectively by puting PR in social marketing.
