PR vs. Advertis
There are many different promotion mix tool which can make link between customer and organisation. I just pick up two aspect of promotion mix tool which have the great change in the last centry; PR and Advertising. The commen idea for PR and Advertising are; PR is the promotion mix tool in marketing place, and the function is to bring the link between organisation and customer; The advertising is the one useful tool for beginning, meanwhile it will help organisation to make impress for their product or service.
I have reading a book which named ‘the raise of PR, the fail of Advertising’. In this book, the author mention the PR is in the important posotion in the Market piontview, and the Advertising is decrease repidly, because most of people do not watching on the advertising on the TV or newspaper.
For my piont view, i think the advertising is still in the important position. As the PR and Advertising are both market communication tool for market, PR and Advertising need to do some cooperation, meanwhile company need to identify the customer level for their product or services. Advertising is the first step to put product or ervice to widely customer group, and it is the first impress about your product or sercvices for the market areas. Advertising is using fresh image, fresh colour, and some hidden information to customers mind, and it just give the information to the customers, it cannot test the product or service. PR is how people thinks for products or services, and it give and test the information which give to customers. PR is like two side for the products, and it give the change to customers to control the information. The good side for PR is; PR give the more trustable information to customers, because information was come from friends,who they trusted; the bad side of PR is; it is very difficulty to control the information they got.
Overall, PR and Advertising need to cooperation work.

| Posted 1 year, 7 months agoI agree with you that PR and Advertising should work hand in hand,but they are both diffirent comcepts.PR as to do with Media Relations while Adverts are paid publicity.but all are aimed to given an organisation a good or favourable image.

I agree that at the moment both advertising and PR is equally important promotional tools. They work in different way: PR influence image of the organisation and advertising increase awareness of the public. However, kind of communication with customers should be selected on basis on product assessment. Sometimes the advertising might be wasting of time and money if the target audience does not pay attention at conventional media such as young people spending most of their time on line.
